When you upload a photo of your car's dashboard, ODO uses image recognition to read the numbers shown on your odometer.
Here's how it works:
- ODO scans the image - The AI looks for the part of the photo that contains the odometer display.
- It identifies the digits - Using trained recognition models, ODO detects the numbers inside that display, even if the lighting or angle isn't entirely perfect.
- It checks for accuracy - Before suggesting a reading, ODO compares the result with your previous entries to make sure the update makes sense.
- You confirm the final reading - Once the AI detects the number, you'll see it on screen and can confirm it before saving.
This process is outlined as Method 2 in the "How do I update my car's kilometres manually?" guide.
